The stud-farm Leonardo Franco in Quinta da Fornalha, Tomar, was founded on 11th November 2011.

In the opening of the stud, Manuel Braga, João André, João Oliveira, Luis Sousa, Paulo Neves and the Engineer José Luis Gomes, sponsored the presentation of the animals that make part of the central basis of the stud Leonardo Franco: Embuçado, Galan, Dádiva, Fátima, Faísca II, Gazela, Guapa and Ginja.

The stud Leonardo Franco dedicates itself exclusively to the breeding and teaching of the Purebred Lusitanian Horse. Despite its short existence, the stud Leonardo Franco began its activity with honoured animals of national and international reference. At the beginning of 2012, it continued to invest in the acquisition of excellence animals, such as the acquisition of the honoured mares from Santa Bárbara stud. This provides history and prestige to the stud, looking forward to the creation and teaching of excellent Purebred Lusitanian Horses.
